Michigan School for the Deaf is excited to announce that Lindsay Lantagne has stepped into the role of full‑time Athletic & Activities Director. While Lindsay is no stranger to MSD, we invite everyone to get to know a bit more about the person leading our growing after‑school programming.
Lindsay lives in Flint with her cat, Sunny, and is an alumna of Houghton Lake High School and Eastern Michigan University, where she studied Deaf Education and Sociology. She also played collegiate volleyball for three years, a sport that remains her favorite to this day. Lindsay continues to compete in volleyball leagues and tournaments, bringing both passion and experience to MSD’s athletic programming.
As a CODA, Lindsay has deep roots in the Deaf community—both of her parents graduated from the Michigan School for the Deaf in 1978. Her lifelong connection to the community fuels her dedication to supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and helping them thrive.
Lindsay has been part of MSD since 2008, serving in numerous roles including teacher’s aide, long‑term substitute teacher, GECS Coordinator, coach, and Activities Director. Throughout her career, she has trained thousands of individuals and has consistently centered her work around growth, connection, and empowerment.
In her full‑time role, Lindsay is excited to focus entirely on after‑school activities and expand opportunities for students beyond the classroom. Through athletics, clubs, activities, and community engagement, she aims to help MSD students discover their strengths, build meaningful relationships, and become active members of their communities.
When you see Lindsay on the court, field, mat, in the Jeter Center, or around various after‑school spaces, please congratulate her on this well‑deserved role. MSD is thrilled to continue strengthening our after‑school programs for our Tartars!
