A Personal Boundaries workshop was presented at MSD on May 7, 2026. High school students were invited.
The presenters explained about understanding and communicating personal boundaries, how to navigate interactions safely, and helped increase awareness related to police procedures.
This workshop was facilitated by Michaela Jitaru from Deaf CAN!, Director Kenya Lowe, Alayna Mail, and Emma Hersey from the Michigan Department of Civil rights - Division on Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing (MDCR-DODDBH), Detective Kasha Lowe of the Lansing Police department, Lauren Henfling, LMSW Community Response and Shelter Services Coordinator - MSU, and Jessica Contreras, MSD Head of School.
