A new Youth Dorm Manager has been hired, and will start at MSD very soon. Read all about him below!
Matt Krueger is a dedicated Student Life leader with over 18 years of experience supporting Deaf students, families, and staff in residential and educational settings. An Indiana School for the Deaf graduate, Matt earned his bachelor’s degree from Gallaudet University, a master’s degree from Ball State University, and also holds a culinary degree, reflecting his love for cooking and creating memorable meals.
He serves on the board of NSLDHH (National Student Life for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) as the Professional Development Specialist, helping advance national training and professional growth. Matt also contributes to CEASD (Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf) as a member of multiple accreditation teams, supporting schools across the country.
Originally from Michigan City, Indiana, Matt developed strong ties to Michigan through years of visiting family “up north” in Ludington. He has been married to his wife, Brandi—also an ISD and Gallaudet graduate—for 30 years. Together they have three grown sons and a recently welcomed daughter (in-law) who has been a joyful addition to the family. At home, Matt enjoys life with two beloved pets: an adorable pitbull and a 5‑year‑old tortoise who add plenty of personality to the household.
Matt is honored and excited to serve as the Youth Dorm Manager at the Michigan School for the Deaf. He looks forward to partnering with MSD students, families, staff, and the Michigan Department of Education to create a safe, welcoming, and vibrant residential community where every student can thrive.
