At various times during the school year, a student may struggle with academic or behavioral issues affecting their ability to learn in the classroom. These issues may include social skills, peer relationships, coping skills, time management and organization, bullying, problem solving, and/or study skills. With parent permission, short term interventions may be developed to help the student.

In addition, counseling department staff facilitate behavioral case conferences, develop behavior intervention plans, and work with teaching staff to offer whole class push-ins for social skills training. Throughout the school year, groups may be offered on such topics as self-esteem, conflict resolution, and character building activities.
